Mean Max Brew Works is a brewery that specializes in serving richly craft homemade lagers and ales. Founded by Dave Walls and Matt Barry, brothers in-law and enthusiastic brewing buddies, have recently joined forces to celebrate their passion for distinctive beers with the community of Glens Falls. Having been home brewers for several years, they decided to turn their talents into a business plan. The plan was put into effect 18 months later when Mean Max Brew Works first opened in 2012.

In 2014, Mean Max Brew Works relocated to Glens Falls. Walls and Barry is leasing a 2,100 square feet of the first floor space at what used to be a dance club. The owners decided that this brewery is exclusively for drinking and therefore customers are encouraged to bring their own food or order in meals. This policy allows the brewers to concentrate on making beers which was initially their goal. The pub and sampling room, which holds 10 to 20 seats, sells pints at the bar and growlers to go. Wine is offered by the glass. The bar is currently under construction and liquor is not available at the moment.

While most of the major construction hurdles have been overcome, the owners felt that the brewery’s interior required some touch-ups.
