Leading commercial furniture distributor, Restaurant Furniture Supply recently historic landmark 1400 Bar and Grill in Alameda, California update its seating by supplying them with new dining booths. 1400 Bar & Grill was previously known as Croll’s Bar and Grill, which opened in the late 19th century. With the development of Neptune Beach, Croll’s Bar & Grill welcomed visitors from San Francisco and the world as they frolicked at the shoreline and enjoyed what became known as the “Coney Island of the West.”
The Great Depression closed the famed Neptune Beach but Croll’s at 1400 Webster continued to flourish. When the Navy developed the Alameda Naval Air Station, 1400 Webster became the watering hole for generations of sailors. The new owners created 1400 Bar & Grill to be Alameda’s West End gathering place and the cornerstone of its revitalization.
The lunch menu includes specials such as pasta dishes, prime rib, fisherman’s stew, shepherd’s pie, Irish stew and more. The regular menu includes burgers, chili, fish & chips and entrees such as braised lamb shank, baby back ribs, spaghetti and meatballs, meatloaf, NY steak and more. The bar has an extensive list of beer, wine and cocktails with many import beers on tap. They also have a large selection of craft beers in bottles.
